It was 2:20 p.m. in Hialeah Gardens High School and Ashley just left AP Stats. She’s greeted with a new friend’s name on her phone, “Betsy”. Betsy wanted to Facetime Ashley to get to know each other. Ashley agreed as she enjoyed the idea. Ashley promptly got home and called Betsy as promised.
“Hello gorgeous”, Ashley greeted Betsy.
“You’re literally so pretty like wow. I’ve seen a bunch of pictures on Instagram but through Facetime you’re so perfect.” Betsy complimented Ashley.
“Thank you! You’re really pretty too! The boys must be all over you at your school.” Ashley returned the compliment.
“Boys at my school are dumb. I don’t even bother talking to them anymore.” Betsy stated. “I’ve started to venture out and talk to boys from other schools.”
“Relatable. Boys in my school are immature.com like I don’t get how they made it to high school sometimes. I mean, except this one boy. He’s really cute but we just started talking. I know he’s a fat player. After all, he is a light skin.” Ashley describes.
“Oh, light skins are yum though.” Betsy proclaimed.
“I know! He’s very attractive and plays soccer. He called me baby girl the other day, my heart nearly melted.” Ashley goes on. “Like he does this cute thing of sending good morning and good night texts which are super thoughtful. He Facetimed me just last night and he has soccer decorated bed sheets, like aw. I’m not getting my hopes up though because he’ll mess up soon.” Ashley explains.
“That sounds just like one of my exes. He used to wait until I got home safety from school to text me. There are some considerate males out there but then they do something dumb.” Betsy told Ashley.
“Yeah my light skin also waits until I get home. I guess it’s something guys do now. He also called me a pure angel. He has sauce.” Ashley said.
“My ex said that to me too! That’s so weird. We must have the same taste.” Betsy said.
“Probably. It’s just hard these days because everyone is cuffed. I’m actually surprised my light skin isn’t. He says it’s because ‘girls don’t talk to him.’ But that’s crazy because hella girls are trying to get at him.”
“All the players use that excuse. But in reality, they’re texting half the girls’ in his schoolgirls.” Betsy said.
“That is so true. Let me pull up his Instagram so I can show you.” Ashley uses her phone.
“Ashley. Is he a senior?”
“Yes.”
“What school do you go to?”
“Hialeah Gardens, why?”
“Is that Chris?” Betsy asks.
“What? Do you know him?” Ashley questions.
“Uh… Kinda”
“Okay then…”
“Ashley, me and him used to be a thing.” Betsy said.
“Wow… Um, I just exposed myself.” Ashley said.
“No don’t feel bad. He’s a dumb–.” Betsy said.
“But—
Are you sure it’s him? Like what are the odds we’re talking about the same Chris? He’s tall, has curly hair, he’s really ta—”
“Ashley, it’s him. He goes to your school, he’s light skin. He ended it by unfollowing my priv and avoiding me.” Betsy stated.
“Well, we have grown distant and—
OMG. He unfollowed my priv.” Ashley yelled.
“He’s so annoying. You don’t need him.” Betsy comforted her.
“You’re right but wow. He’s super immature. At least I got a friendship out of it.” Ashley states.
“I’m always here for you babe. There’s much better out there for you” Betsy states.
“Thank you. You’re right. I have to go do homework, I’ll text you later.” Ashley ends the call.
