Being raised in Miami, I learned early on to work for what I want. Seeing my fearless mother provide for my family-- regardless of financial burdens and unfavorable adversity -- demonstrated how I can surpass the limits of society. I hope to embody these characteristics of empowerment and strength in my efforts of becoming an attorney. As a Columbia Lion, I have sought ways to improve the lives of minorities in my new community. Whether it's volunteering during breaks in providing food for those in need or gathering funds to support those who need winter clothing, I have devoted my efforts to giving back to the community that helped raise me.
